#37Eating Fat Doesn't make you FAT

The smoothie has less calories, and cholesterol. The Fat Myth For years the American Heart Association. (1996) and the American Diabetes Association (since 1997) have been pushing a low fat diet? They said if you don't eat fat you won't gain weight. There is only one problem, science didn't support these recommendation and time proved it wrong. Over the last 30 years Americans have followed their doc's advice and the obesity rate has tripled. Fat consumption is down by 42%, and yet American's are growing fatter. For the first time in history the human species expectancy is declining, so that children of this generation will live sicker and die younger than their parents. Americans tried to fix their hunger feelings with white flour, white rice, pasta, potatoes and sugar. These types of carbohydrates raised insulin levels which in turn promoted weight gain. The American Heart Association's own statistics show that between 1979 and 1996 medical procedures for heart disease increased from 1/2 million to 5.4 million. Heart disease did not decrease with the low fat diet either. Thank you, doctors for all your help.
All Fats Are NOT Created Equal The most dangerous fats are called "trans fats" they are man made and resemble the molecule of plastic. These are found when margarine and shortening are produced and are just plain toxic. They block your metabolism, give you no energy, create weight gain and increase your risk of diabetes, heart disease and cancer, ten fold. The commerical baking industry loves them because they make carb products that will not spoil or mold. They remain stable in landfills for generations after generation. A twenty year on going trial on Twinkies has found that they will not mold or rot. Personally, I have a package of individually wrapped cheese slices that are 10 years old. They have not molded and don't look a spec different than the day they were bought at the grocery store.

Drug companies would have you believe that the "bad" or LDL (low density lipotrotein) cholesterol is the single biggest factor in the development of heart disease. But the truth is that the determining factor is the ratio of your total cholesterol to you "good" or HDL (high density lipoprotein) cholesterol. There is an easy way to remember this cholesterol thing LDL is for lousy cholesterol, HDL is the happy cholesterol. The truth is that ratio between your total cholesterol and your HDL is almost entirely determined by the type and amount of carbohydrates you eat and not by the amount of fat you consume.

Why Haven’t You Heard About All This Before? When I talk science to people, I often hear “If that is true why doesn’t the media tell us that?” or “Why do I hear just the opposite?” These are great questions. The answers are a crucial part of the cover-up. Much is governed by the golden rule. Those who have the gold make all the rules. There are powerful, influential and enormously wealthy industries that stand to loose a huge amount of cash if you change how you eat. Their financial health depends on you spending your dollar with them. The U.S. spent $250 billion last year on heart disease. It paid for cardiac drugs, for clot dissolving medication, for costly mechanical techniques that bypass clogged arteries and widen them with balloons, tiny rotating knives, laser, and stents. All these carried with them serious complication , including death. BUT, they do nothing at all to cure the underlying disease or to prevent it from development into other diseases. I believe the medical profession has taken the wrong course. The doc's are watching millions of people fall of the cliff while they should be teaching us how to avoid the chasm entirely. I believe heart disease and diabetes are preventable, their progress can be stopped, and their insidious effect reverse. Are you at the end of the cliff? Do you grasp the implication of what I have told you.
You have hope! Jeff's total blood cholesterol count to just 89 mg/dL and cut his LDL or bad cholesterol from 98 Mg/dL to 38 mg/dL.

Fat Chance!! Some fats actually are good for you, and even help you loose weight. I would even go so far as to say some fats are healthy and some are lethal. Bad fats turn off you fat burning genes and make you fat. Good fats bind with the same PRAR receptors and increase your metabolism, help you burn the fat and you more insulin sensitive. Flax seed oil and coconut oil actually bind with the receptors and improve insulin sensitivity, while trans fats, and Omega 6 fats found in french fries have the exact opposite effect, blocking your metabolism and slowing down your bodies ability to utilise it's food. The type of fat you consume is way more important than the amount of fat you eat. Your brain is made up of 60% fat, including a special saturated fat called lauric acid which is an omega-3 fat. These fats are also found in our cell membranes and are used as preferred sources of energy by the heart. This same fat helps the immune system by killing viruses and bad yeasts. Lauric acid, is found in raw coconuts, coconut milk, coconut oil, palm fruit oil and macdamia nuts and oils. These fats help sharpen your short term memory --could you use some help in that department -- or can't you remember?

Eating Fats does NOT raise you cholesterol

20 years of physician telling you to eat low fat food and take your pills -- will not change the above science fact. Eating fat doesn't make you fat. All non-biased science based information proves that eating polyunsaturated fats DOES NOT make you fat nor does it raise your cholesterol. (All information from the drugs companies that make satin drugs that lower your cholesterol will tell you that fat is bad) All cholesterol is formed by eating saturated fat plus sugars and/or refined carbohydrates. Feedlot raised beef contains 500% more saturated fat than grass-fed beef. There are many reasons for choosing to eat cleaner forms of animal protein, which as reduced intake of pesticides, hormones (to make the cow meat more fat) and antibiotics (to keep them healthy in small filthy feedlots.) (If you live in northern Colorado I have many farm folks who grow healthy cows and can give you there names and numbers -- their meat is no more expensive than feed lot regular cows.)

The Greenland Inuit population has been studied for years, extensively because they have eaten 70% of their diet as fat. They eat polar bear fat, seal fat, Arctic whale fat, walrus fat and other easy to find food on the North Pole. They eat very few carbs and some veggie and fruit. Thousands of them remain thin and healthy, remaining free of heart disease, obesity and diabetes, why? All these food contain predominantly omego-3 fats and monounsaturated fats and their diet contains very few carbs. Years of History don't lie............

The latest study published in Health Affairs revealed that the United States now ranks 49th for male and female life expectancy worldwide, a ranking that has fallen sharply from fifth place in 1950. At the same time that life expectancy has been declining at faster rates than many other industrialized nations, per capita health spending has been on the rise. Specifically, U.S. per capita health spending rose at nearly twice the rate of other developed countries between 1970 and 2002, which means the U.S. spends more than twice the amount on health care as other developed nations. American medical care is the most expensive in the world, and what do we get for this "price?"

Ever wondered where Canola oil comes from?

Olive oil comes from olives, peanut oil from peanuts, sunflower oil from
sunflowers; but what is a canola? There was nothing on the label to enlighten
me, which I thought odd. So, I did some investigating on the Internet. There are
plenty of official Canola sites lauding this new "wonder" oil with all its
low-fat health benefits.

Here are just a few facts everyone should know before buying anything containing canola. Canola is not the name of a natural plant but a made-up word, from the words "Canada" and "oil". Canola is a genetically engineered plant developed in Canada from the Rapeseed Plant, which is part of the mustard family of plants.

According to AgriAlternatives, The Online Innovation, and Technology Magazine for Farmers, "By nature, these rapeseed oils, which have long been used to
produce oils for industrial purposes, are... toxic to humans and other animals".
(This, by the way, is one of the websites singing the praises of the new canola
industry.)

Rapeseed oil is poisonous to living things and is an excellent insect repellent.
The garden guy says that undiluted it will kill the aphids on my roses. It suffocates them. Rape is an oil that is used as a lubricant,
fuel, soap and synthetic rubber base and as a illuminate for color pages in
magazines.

It is an industrial oil. It is not a food. Rape oil, it seems, causes
emphysema, respiratory distress, anemia, constipation, irritability, and
blindness in animals and humans. Rape oil was widely used in animal feeds in
England and Europe between 1986 and 1991, when it was thrown out. Remember the
"Mad Cow disease" scare, when millions of cattle in the UK were slaughtered in
case of infecting humans? Cattle were being fed on a mixture containing
material from dead sheep, and sheep suffer from a disease called "scrapie".

It was thought this was how "Mad Cow" began and started to infiltrate the human
chain. What is interesting is that when rape oil was removed from animal feed,
Since then there have been no reports of "Mad Cow"

The canola supporting websites say that canola is safe to use. They admit it was developed from the rapeseed, but insist that through genetic engineering it is no longer rapeseed, but "canola" instead.

Except canola means "Canadian oil"; and the plant is still a rape plant, albeit
genetically modified. The new name provides perfect cover for commercial
interests wanting to make millions. Look at the ingredients list on labels.
Apparently peanut oil is being replaced with rape oil. You'll find it in an
alarming number of processed foods. There's more, but to conclude: rape oil was
the source of the chemical warfare agent mustard gas, which was banned after
blistering the lungs and skins of hundred of thousands of soldiers and civilians
during W.W.I. Recent French reports indicate that it was again in use during the
Gulf War.

Canola oil from the rape seed, referred to as the Canadian oil because Canada is
mainly responsible for it being marketed in the USA. Studies with lab animals were
disastrous. Rats developed fatty degeneration of heart, kidney, adrenals, and
thyroid gland. When canola oil was withdrawn from their diets, the deposits
dissolved but scar tissue remained on all vital organs. No studies on humans
were made before money was spent to promote Canola oil in the USA.

Check products for ingredients. If the label says, "may contain the following"
and lists canola oil, you know it contains canola oil because it is the cheapest
oil and the Canadian government subsidizes it to industries involved in food
processing.

I don't know what you'll be cooking with tonight, but I'll be using coconut oil
and old-fashioned butter, NOT genetically unmodified cow.

Homework
Time to go to the kitchen and toss out all the bad fats.
(no more crisco, canola oil or corn oil)
Next time your at the store buy extra virgin Coconut oil.
Then when you have a recipe for butter or margarine do the switch.
We fry taco's in coconut oil and nobody has every said my these taste tropical.
